Thrive Landscape and Design
Drought Tolerant Landscaping Companies

“We had a very outdated and environmentally unfriendly landscape around the 3acre site of our 1980s southwest run style berm home. Concrete with a very formal ugly brick pattern in front of our south-facing solar energy source, and asphalt paving (UGH!) everywhere else. It made the house hot in summer and ugly. The house also needed an entrance, as there was not an obvious one. Peter Chivers and his crew put together a plan with us to start to " remediate" the site. Peter's taste and ours I think really fit. He designed a fabulous new southwestern entry, even scrounged around and found a very cool old hand hewn beam for the header. There's more work to be done with plants and the landscape, and we'll be working with them again next year. You should know that Peter is a perfectionist and as with the really good people, sometimes things take longer than you think. We didn't push, but if we had I think it would probably be ready for pictures. We'll put some up as soon as we can!”

“As a fence and railing contractor we have worked with many builders over the years. Working on home remodel projects with Bellawood has been a great experience. From the preconstruction meet to the completion, the communication, attention to details, workmanship and the crews make this company a first class operation. Everyone is extremely professional and take a great deal of pride in every project I have been involved with.”

“These guys are truly artists in their craft and have an eye for impeccable detail. We found Southern through a project they were working on in the neighborhood. After receiving multiple quotes for our outdoor living and landscape project we decided to use Southern for a few reasons. 1. They are very punctual and showed up a few minutes before our consultation started. We had a few companies come out and none of them could stick to the time scheduled which led us to think of they aren’t even committed to showing up on time they will not be to out project. 2. The bid was very thorough. It mentioned the slightest detail we had discussed during our consultation. 3. We had a lot of questions and Malcolm took time to discuss them in detail. 4. After we finalized all the details and a start date for our project, Malcolm kept us in the loop as we were approaching the start date. 5. The crews and constructions process was flawless to say the least. They are very detailed, cleaned up everyday, and gave us daily updates as to what was happening on the next stage. 6. After the completion of our paver patio, pergola, and landscaping we will definitely be using Southern Design and Build for all of our outdoor living projects. - Elizabeth Green”

“Jason and Kellen are an amazing team. They were so thorough from the beginning to end of our project. We had a vision and they came with their experience and expertise and made that vision come true. We are so happy with our Mediterranean courtyard. It has increased our living space now by being able to enjoy the patio we never had the opportunity to before. It has made such a big difference in our home and we are extremely thrilled. Jason and Kellen completed the project on time and kept to the budget we had provided them. I would highly recommend them for any outdoor project!!”

“Two years ago, I hired Bill McWhorter for a drought-tolerant design in the front yard of my Cottage-style house. His design was inspired. He used the plants, one tree, and decomposed granite to create pretty welcoming shapes, winding pathways, and strategically placed spiky succulents and bougainvillea to add to the security of potential break-in points - an added bonus. The best part was the relaxed feeling that we continue to get as we walk through, brushing the plants - the salvia clevalandii and varieties of lavender release fragrance all year long, making it a complete experience. Also the drought-tolerant plants were surprising - the hot pink flowers from the Calandrinia, and the gigantic succulent blooms continue to amaze. I couldn't recommend Bill more highly - he's an artist with a master's eye. But be forewarned: a drought tolerant garden takes as much maintenance as a lawn, and a lot more knowledge. Hire Bill. You won't be disappointed.”
