As an interior design firm, we expect a certain level of professionalism from our vendors. Unfortunately, Cliff Young fell short of that standard. After purchasing a replacement lamp head, we received one missing an electrical component, then a second in the wrong color — each separated by months (5 months to be exact) of waiting and countless hours of follow-up. Our relationship with the client took a hit because she had a lamp that was unusable for months. When I reached out to find a resolution — asking whether they'd buy back the incorrect lamp heads or offer a courtesy item given the extended ordeal — the response from Marne was simply: *"No on both counts."* No accountability, no apology, no attempt to make it right. Mistakes happen. How a company handles them is what matters. I'll be reconsidering recommending Cliff Young going forward.

A Cautionary Tale for Interior Designers I'm writing this so other designers know exactly what they're signing up for when they place an order with Cliff Young. We ordered a high-end floor lamp last summer for a residential project. When a component — the glass globe — was damaged during our project install, we contacted Cliff Young immediately. They offered us two options: repurchase the entire lamp at full price, or order just the replacement globe at roughly half the price. We ordered the globe. What followed was a six-month ordeal that never should have happened. The replacement globe arrived months later with almost no communication or updates along the way. When it finally showed up, it was the wrong color and was missing the electrical connector needed to attach it to the base. Rather than listen to us — we could clearly see the part was missing — their team spent two weeks suggesting we "troubleshoot" on our end. They eventually acknowledged the issue and contacted the manufacturer in Italy, costing us several more weeks. They agreed to ship a corrected replacement. Then: months of silence. Over the holidays, complete radio silence. When we followed up — because they never once proactively reached out to us — the response was some version of "we'll check with the factory." The pattern was always the same: we chase them, they respond days later with no real information, and weeks slip by. Not once in six months did Cliff Young initiate an update. On top of the delays, they sent us emails containing other clients' invoices and private information on multiple occasions — a serious lapse in professionalism and basic data handling. After four months of waiting with no resolution in sight, our client wanted to return the lamp entirely. We contacted Cliff Young to return the base and get a refund. They refused completely. So our client was stuck — couldn't get the piece she paid for to work, and couldn't get her money back either. We finally received a functioning replacement globe in March 2025 — approximately six months after the claims process began for what should have been a straightforward component replacement. The impact on our firm was significant. Our client was understandably furious throughout this process and held us responsible, because from her perspective there is no distinction between us and our vendors. We spent dozens of hours of unbillable time managing this issue, following up, sourcing alternative lamps when a return seemed like the only option, and trying to get basic answers. As a final note: after everything was resolved, we were left with the original incorrect globe Cliff Young had sent us — a piece we had no use for without a matching base. We reached out and asked if they would either provide a base so we could have a complete second lamp, or buy the globe back from us. Their response was a flat no. They then suggested we could just ship it back to them — as though after six months of t

I am a repeat customer. I have always had a positive experience. From layout to design, along with my impute , their staff provides a rendering illustrating what the room will look like , when all the elements are in place. They then provide you with various furniture designs . A color scheme is put together,fabrics are chosen, both for the furniture and throw pillows. Various hand made rug designs are presented,as well as lighting and window treatments. Wall colors are suggested. If something requires outsourcing, they will provide leads.They will come to your residence at the beginning of the project, and are there when delivery is made to ensure everything is placed properly. Tamding and Mary are both terrific. Leslie Young the proprietor, takes a personal interest in everything. I would definitely recommend them.

My experience with Cliff Young Ltd. has been nothing but extremely positive. I consider this company to be a strong leader in the home furnishings industry not only in client satisfaction, but also in design and manufacturing. Their design team is well equipped to partner well with Interior Designers, and their showroom is always stunning and provides excellent visual resources for clients. Specified a custom media console as well a dresser and nightstand from Cliff Young. They worked very closely with me on a custom finish that turned out absolutely incredible. They also researched coplanar door hardware for the media console that provided the perfect movement. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and the collections are extensive with many options from which to choose. Cliff Young is always a stop for me when shopping NYDC.
