“Jocques and his crew put the finishing touches on my home in August, 2015. When I began my building project, I was looking for a contractor who would work with me as a team member. Jocques and Jessica, his partner offered this. The build had its difficult times, as all do. But throughout, there was always an opportunity for discussion and amendment of the project, if necessary. Some changes needed to be made, not due to Jocques' planning. He offered ideas and support for what needed to be done. His vision helped make my home what it has become--something very lovely. Building on Maui can be difficult. Patience is necessary. Resources are sometimes limited. Jocques and Jessica brought me and my home through all of this and I am extremely happy with the result. If there ever is a problem with warranty issues, he literally is here within hours to address is.”

“Island Independence remodeled both bathroom of my Wailea condo this spring. I feel very fortunate to have had Gabriel Krueger as my contractor. The project started on time and finished on time - a real feat in Maui where almost everyone and everything is on "island time." Gabe is especially gifted at finding creative solutions to those quirky situations that come up when remodeling a bathroom where the walls are not straight, etc. The finished bathrooms were gorgeous! Gabe is also exceptional in that he came back promptly to fix a few minor things that I hadn't noticed until after I had paid him in full. I can't say enough good things about Gabe - he is personable, intelligent, highly skilled, gifted problem solver, an excellent communicator and 100 % honest.”

“Mathers construction has completed multiple full remodels for me. When I say full, I mean demolishing everything in the home and then putting it all back together pretty. Other than being pleasant to work with, my favorite thing about Zach is that he doesn't have to be closely monitored. If you've worked with contractors you know how unusual that is. I've had multiple units where I did one walk through with him and a couple months later I walk in to a completed home that is nicer than what we talked about, and on budget. He always seems to come up with improvements that I overlooked. In closing, I'm hesitant to post this review because it may lead to him being less available to keep working on my jobs!”

“Steve has done various upgrades to our home over the years. They include window replacement,.finish work and bathroom remodels. We have always been impressed with the quality and timeliness of his work as well as the accuracy of his estimates. When it came time for a kitchen remodel, Steve is the only person we considered to handle the job. Once again, this turned out to be the correct decision. My wife and I selected and ordered all the materials (cabinetry, granite, flooring, appliances). However, this being Maui, there were a number of issues that came up due to order problems. Steve acted on our behalf to intercede with the vendor, suggest additions and come up with workarounds that actually enhanced the outcome of the project. If we have any other projects that we come up with, Steve and his crew will be our choice to handle project.”
