“I contracted with Mr. Edwards to remodel my kitchen which was about a 1980's look. The cabinets were made of wood but the doors were of pressed wood. I also had outdated wine cabinets and bookcases which needed updating. Mr Edwards suggested remaking the two wine cabinets into shelves for cookbooks, and two covered cabinet spaces which now open into two desk and computer spaces which now give me and my son a work space. Mr. Edwards made a new wine rack and cabinet which he suggested for a space that was not being utilized. One of the most difficult jobs he had was to finish new cabinet and bookcase doors to the exact finish that was on the parts that we did not have to replace. He spent an inordinate amount of time working to get the match. I am pleased to say that it is perfect. He personally installed the entire job. When he installed the drawer fronts he told me the original drawer frames were really not good. I did not contract for him to do the inside of the drawers because I was trying to save money. He wanted them to be right so he said he would make new frames for the original cost. He made 8 new frames. I have an open den/kitchen he replaced the bookcase doors in the den with a perfect match to the kitchen. Mr. Edwards is very conscious of doing quality work. He was timely, his price for the job was very reasonable. He understands his craft, is professional and easy to work with. I think he is the best. I give him the highest recommendation.”

“I found Fitz and Sonz Builders to be one of the most honest and upfront builder experiences I have had in many years with my Home Projects in the last 15 years. They work well in many situations that maybe unique as being in a sub contractor role too a GC role. Tony's experience and knowledge of Wood construction , residential work, craftmanship is profound. He understands many different Materials , Means and Methods and is always willing to listen to others ideas that maybe in the same industry. I found Tony to be very upfront in providing ROM's, budgeting suggestions on how to use different materials and or methods to achieve the same end result as well as being willing to let the customer feel good about the decision making process and not roll over a clients wishes. This can be difficult at times for professional contractors to deal with clients that may not completely understand the building process and the reasoning's or cost aspects behind doing things a certain way. Tony is very likable and knows how to put the customer first. One of the many things that impressed me was his working with his sons and the work ethic that he instills in those that work with him as well as their professionalism and respectfulness to their client . I took a week + off work just so I could experience a week working with them and enjoy building my dream with them. Being from a larger GC builder out of NVA this brought me back to my early memories of building and why I loved it.”

“We presented a challenging project: a large addition; a strict budget; a long list of "needs"; and, placement limited by sight lines and parking. We added a two story addition of approximately 1200 square feet connecting through to the existing structure. This involved reorienting the exterior basement steps. The first floor consists of a laundry room, coat closet, kitchen, master bedroom, and bath with a zero entry shower. The second floor has an arched entry to a sewing nook, storage area and a media room. We used a mixture of tile, wood and carpet for the floors. We retained some brick walls and extensively used bead board to reflect the cottage nature of the existing home. Eddie, as he is now known to friends and neighbors alike, met with U.S. And our architect to discuss our plans. With his broad knowledge of construction and materials, Eddie was invaluable in providing us information that enabled us to make choices that met our budgetary constraints while achieving the look and feel that we desired. It was important to him that we were comfortable not only with him but our chosen options. The subcontractors and suppliers recommended and used by Eddie were all knowledgable and courteous and provided a full range of options. Our neighbors commented on how hard working and efficient they were. They worked hard on our behalf and took great care with our home. The work was done in a timely fashion despite uncooperative weather. Eddie was very hands on for our project. For most of the construction he was here daily. We also texted and spoke on the phone often. He always took the time to answer my questions and concerns, and was open to discussing options and changes and any budgetary consequences. He was a good sounding board on the many choices that needed to be made. He kept us informed on the timetables for the different trades. With Eddie's help and hard work we have a " rest-of-our-lifetime " home to love and enjoy. We look forward with working with him on some smaller projects that we have planned. “Jay Wigington and his crew have performed several valuable services to us over several years, Mainly in St. Leonard MD but also in DC, including procuring and installing 30 super new windows in an old house, new wash basin, repairing several parts of the roof which began to leak, replacing a yard-square piece of ceiling which suddenly dropped and painting everywhere needed, and most recently, tearing out old planks on an old dock, procuring and hammering in and weather-proofing new planks, an installing a floating dock.
