“We can’t say enough about the amazing way Alison renovated our 1960’s house from an outdated design that did not meet our needs to a beautifully functional design that we now love! We renovated our kitchen and two bathrooms, which can be a daunting task when the situation seems hopeless and you don’t know where to start. Alison brought a holistic approach to the design, creating a functional space that was consistent with the period of the house. She made sure the design worked well with the adjacent space, and helped us with every detail along the way including selection of tile, plumbing fixtures, flooring, appliances, etc… Our kitchen and our master bath were both extremely space challenged and very dated. Somehow Alison found space where there wasn't any before. Our master bath was a postage stamp sized cubicle with a closet style shower and 1960s green tile. Alison had the vision to expand that space into an adjacent closet while maximizing our other closet space in the master bedroom. She designed a beautiful walk-in shower with waterfall tiling and a new expanded vanity, which allows my wife and I to use the bathroom at the same time. We now have an expansive walk-in closet in our master bedroom without sacrificing significant space in the master bedroom. Our kitchen may have been even more of a challenge than our bathroom and the changes that Alison made completely transformed the functionality and beauty of the kitchen. We started with a 1960's galley kitchen with original cabinets, very limited storage space, an undersized oven, and laminated countertops that were space constrained with our microwave and other appliances. Cooking together in our old kitchen was an impossible task as we were constantly bumping into each other. Alison's vision for our kitchen included bumping out the kitchen wall adjacent to our dining room and using the space where the wall had been for new gas cooktop, serving area and additional cabinets. The dining room side of the expansion now includes beautiful glass cabinets that display our formal china. Alison totally reorganized the flow of the kitchen to allow several people to work in the kitchen comfortably. She expanded the entrance from our living room into the kitchen giving it a much more open feel. We now have over twice the amount of cabinet space we previously had and numerous features that make the kitchen far more functional. We are extremely grateful to Alison for make our home so much warmer and more beautiful.”
First Impression Designs

“My interactions with First Impression Designs have occurred over many different experiences: construction and redesigning of kitchen and bathrooms. The level of knowledge and understanding that was exhibited with reference to my new construction project was invaluable to seeing my home through to completion. First Impression had a knowledge of construction beyond just a design level. The structural understanding of my new home (load bearing walls, plumbing requirements, etc.) were invaluable. First Impression was sensitive and flexible with options to stay within budget and meet deadlines. Working with First Impression gave me "peace of mind" knowing that other sub-contractors were communicated and coordinated with. The whole experience was made less stressful and the end result was amazing! Looking forward to working with her on our next project.”

“G Contracting did an amazing job bringing my dream kitchen to life! Throughout all stages of our project they had excellent communication. Their team was prompt, thoughtful, and skilled. We were slightly overwhelmed as we had a structural issue, but based on their extensive experience they were able to quickly put a plan together to fix this and give us peace of mind for our house. Their team came in and executed everything beautifully. From the start, we were comfortable with them and we knew we would be in good hands with G Contracting. Highly recommend them and look forward to tackling future projects with them. We are beyond grateful for all the hard work everyone on the team did to bring our vision to life. Thank you Jim, Jonathon, and team!”

“I have been working with Ray Jandura on different projects for the past 10 years and his design work and attention to detail is impeccable, he learns, through meeting with the customer, what will best fit their needs and then makes it happen with his designs. As a contractor, I appreciate the way Ray works "with" you and makes the projects run as smooth as possible. I will continue to recommend and work with Ray on any kitchen or bath project in the future.”

“I have had WVCS remodel my kitchen from a cookie cutter 1990's builder's kitchen to a beautiful custom designed one. The suggestions and design ideas were so helpful, which helped make my decisions much easier. It can certainly be overwhelming, but with their help the project was fun. Craftsmanship was top notch and professional. And timely!!!! I was so pleased with this company that I have since had them remodel 3 baths, my laundry room and library. Highly recommend WVCS.”

“Kim West Gall, owner and designer of Sweetbriar Cabinetry and Design, recently completed the design and renovation of our master bathroom. Our first experience with Kim was in 2010 when we hired her for the complete design/renovation of our kitchen. Prior to hiring Kim, we had tirelessly interviewed many kitchen and bath designers and were disappointed in the lack of vision and creativity of their designs. However; when we met with Kim, we felt an immediate connection. Kim has amazing vision and creativity and the finished product of both of these projects resulted in beautiful, functional and sustainable spaces. Most importantly, Kim listened carefully to our needs, and was able to create unique spaces that fit our lifestyle perfectly. Both projects were completed on time, within budget, and exceeded our expectations. We are now ready to begin our 3rd project with Kim and are looking forward to another amazing transformation.”
Design Intervention by Danielle, LLC

“Danielle does a fantastic job! She designed a BEAUTIFUL country kitchen for us! We had the traditional seperate kitchen and dining room area, which is now one BIG open country kitchen. Not only did Danielle design it, but she was here every step of the way. She walked us through the entire process...picking designs, appliances, colors, flooring, trim, cabinets, counter tops, etc. My kitchen is the nicest room in my house and everyone who walks in is in awe!! The construction is high quality with attention to details. My only regret is that I don't have enough money to have her do my whole house!! I highly recommend this company and Danielle's expertise!”

“I can’t say enough great things about Coffee talk Kitchens! Jen sat with us a few times before making any edits to our drawings from our architect! She is really focused on how your family functions in the kitchen day to day! She changed our drawings and made my kitchen spectacular and was even able to add a mud room where my architect had something else!!! She is fantastic and we hired her company and ordered our cabinets through her! She also recommended other suppliers who we ordered our appliances from, my handles from and light fixtures from..She was on top of everything! If you are renovating a kitchen you should look no further and hire her!”
Kitchen Intuitions
Handicap-Accessible Design Companies in Bangor
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsNovember 9, 2013
“We contracted with Kitchen Intuitions to tear down to the studs a 50 year-old kitchen to which various previous owners had done DIY jobs, some of which were, when the walls were gone, very dangerous and had serious structural implications. KI was fantastic in every way, starting with reliability and dedication of the crew, and going on to creativity in dealing with the confines of the given space, as well as taking corrective action needed as the faults of the previous DIY jobs were exposed, removing 5 layers of flooring and 2 ceilings which no one knew were there. KI maximized the amount of cabinet storage space and made the space convenient to work and circulate in, meshing perfectly with the adjoining spaces in the house.”
