“Carl Mattison Design is truly a full service design house. Carl met with my husband and I a few months prior to begining our kitchen and bath remodel project. He helped us to think through many different options for our space. He was very creative and came up with a design proposal which utilized our kitchen space in a way we had never considered. At first we were hesitant to make such a dramatic change in our almost 100 year old house, but ultimately we selected this design- dubbed "The Ultimate" and we could not be happier!
We discussed budget with Carl at the onset of this project and he never lost sight of that parameter. When my husband and I decided to increase our budget, Carl was the one who keep us realistic and worked to help keep cost down. In a house as old as ours it's not surprising that quirks and problems arose. Carl never gave up on finding the most practical, budget friendly solution and was always available to meet when we needed him. He also made himself available to our contractor which made the process smoother when quick decisions or details were needed.
Carl helped us to narrow down difficult choices for small and large decisions and always replied quickly when I problems arose. He is always on time and also fun to work with! I happily recommend Carl Mattison Design to all my friends and neighbors who have come to check out our new and beautiful space!”

“I wanted to redo my kitchen, and intended to get rid of everything and start fresh. Denise and I talked several times, while sitting in my then current kitchen. She asked a lot of questions about usage, and what I wanted to be able to do with the space. I thought I knew what I wanted it to look like; however, Denise proposed some changes in floor plan and traffic pattern that I hadn't considered. I'm so glad I went with her ideas and am thrilled with the result.
In addition, she was mindful of my tastes and budget. Many designers know what looks good, but don't take into account the clients needs and taste. Denise designed the kitchen, and did most of the shopping for accessories, granite, etc; however, it is my kitchen, and perfect for me.”

For example, we wanted a warming drawer & thought we wanted it underneath the oven as so many have. She recommended that we have it next to the cooktop for convenience & my husband, the cook, absolutely agrees that it is much more convenient here. We couldn't be happier with our decision! They removed an entire wall from our kitchen to create an open, bright floor plan and added a beautiful island and tons of storage to the kitchen.
