Malka Sabroe-JoHanson

I studied architectural interior design at UCLA and California State University at Los Angeles. Working first as an interior designer for large building developers, I designed model homes for their newly built houses to increase sales. After a trip to Europe and my time spent amongst the artful textiles of Italy, I was inspired to embrace my love of fabrics and sought the position as a sales representative for Kravet and Richard Bernard Fabric Companies calling upon interior designers, architects and motion picture studios which included Disney, Universal, Paramount and 20 Century. Working with the studios I selected period fabric for such movies and TV series as Back To The Future, Mobster, and Murder She Wrote. Several years later, many of the studios moved to Florida and I relocated to Northern California to explore a new avenue of designing for more practicality and functionality, as in: form follows function. I have been designing custom cabinetry, specializing in closets for better organization ever since.
