Covers Unlimited Corporation’s founder, Larry, used to walk into Chicago office buildings unannounced and ask to speak with the office manager. “Give me a chair you are thinking of throwing out and let me reupholster it...if you don’t like it...the job is free.... if you do like it...give me some more chairs!” Customers loved his straight shooting style, green approach and most importantly, the finished product. Needless to say, Larry was given a lot of chairs! For the last twenty-eight years, our family’s business has been creating beautiful custom furniture and revitalizing and reinventing quality pieces. Our expert craftsmen reupholster furniture, refinish wood and refurbish leather. Together with our interior design team, we help our clients create exactly what they have envisioned. LOVE my MCM chair that Covers Unlimited reupholstered for me on the fly. They were up against a time crunch when I brought the chair into their former location in downtown Chicago, because of their impending move to their new suburban location. They did a great job with the fabric, touched up the frame, all in less than 2 weeks time. Will definitely use them again. See before and after photos below.

Hi Torre,

Still on review rampage ? Hi Houzz! Torre had us reupholster an old sofa. Came out great! He says it made a squeak two weeks after we delivered it. It was a reupholstering job and we checked the frame.etc. He wanted us to go onsite, take it apart, and possibly redo whole piece fabric and all to try and find a squeak. We simply could not agree to that. Please decide for yourselves Houzz. He didn't mention by the way how he and his friends thought the job was Gorgeous! :) RE: the disregard - it is for people trying to take advantage of others. Personally I think Torre is mad because I keep coming online and defending us with the truth. He did threaten us that he would do this if we didn't do what he asked though. He keeps delivering on that threat, but we won't be pushed into something that we know is wrong because of his threats and continued attempts to discredit our business and reputation. I am surprised and feel bad nothing in your life has become more important than this since last October when the job was done. Take care Torre, I am still thinking positive thoughts for you and my hopes for your happiness continue!! See you on the next site!

Being an Interior Designer, it is important for me to make sure that the craftsman I am working with are the best, to ensure my clients are 100% satisfied. Covers Unlimited is easily the best company to work with for reupholstering and custom furniture pieces for my clients, bar none. They are so detailed oriented and such a delight to work with. They really know what they are doing and that makes me confident that I am delivering the best product possible. Developing custom pieces with them is a breeze. We meet, discuss initial ideas, discuss measurements, draw out sketches, etc. In a short turn around I have a prototype to look over before they finish the full pieces so we can make sure the size is right, cushion comfort is ideal, the arm slope is where we want it, the seat height is correct, etc. I truly cannot say enough about what a pleasure it is to work with Covers Unlimited and I refer them to everyone I can.

I couldn't be more pleased with the work Covers Unlimited did with my furniture----they recovered and restored a Victorian fireplace bench back to its original beauty, and they did a lovely job recovering and restoring a favorite large reading chair and ottoman that was far too comfortable to want to throw out! They were very helpful and friendly all the way through the process. I was looking for fabric that might be able to withstand a little of the wear and tear my animals can inflict on furniture, and Nicole had a variety of fabric samples all picked out before our first meeting that would guide me in the right direction! I had shopped around for replacement furniture before I decided on reupholstering the pieces I had---and I am so glad I did. I'm not even going to hesitate the next time---I'll go straight to Covers Unlimited. After my furniture was delivered last Friday afternoon, all of my family and friends got texts---I was so proud of my "brand new" furniture. Thanks, Covers Unlimited!

I have always wanted a wing back chair for my living room. I have African accents in my condo and always wanted something made with mud cloth. Mud cloth is made by hand by African artisans. It comes in approximately 1 1/2 yard lengths; since it is handmade, no two pieces are alike. The challenge for the Covers Unlimited Design Team was to use the cloth I provided to cover the chair I provided in such a way that it made design sense. The team exceeded my expectations and turned my vision into a reality. The price was acceptable and the project was finished early. The time frame was projected as six weeks, but it only took two weeks to complete. Pick up and delivery service is available. The experience was exceptional and I now have a conversation piece: a chair with mid century sensibility with an African vibe.

I never thought that I could be so excited about beige chairs!!! Covers Unlimited did a fantastic job reupholstering my wing back chairs that I bought for a steal at $50 at an estate sale! They look brand new! The original time frame to complete the project was 3 weeks...they had it done in a week and a half! Sarah was my contact through the whole process. She is a pleasure to work with-very thorough, accommodating and patient :) I'm so thrilled with the results...so much so that I'll be bringing my couch for reupholstering in the next few weeks!

Great work. Had sofa cushions covered, one chair and two ottomans recovered - all in leather. The work is very sharp and clean. Last year I had a vintage womb chair covered - with the foam replaced and reupholstered with leather - beautiful work.

Covers Unlimited is a great place to work with! Though they aren't on the "cheap end" of the spectrum when it comes to recovering quotes, I go to them time and again because they are genuinely amazing to work with, the quality is unparalleled, and I know that any issues with the chairs will be dealt with (usually) at no additional charge. They simply do a great job and as such, deserve to charge every penny. Totally worth it!

I had a living room chair from my aunt that was from the 1940's which I always liked the style and color and fabric so I decided to have it reupholstered. The chair's fabric was mohair and to replace it with mohair was out of my price range so I chose another fabric which I am very happy with. The chair itself turned out beautiful. The workmanship is excellent. I could not have been more pleased with the chair. I highly recommend this company and also Sarah was very pleasant to work with.
