I have a fairly large closet in my apartment that's under the stairs to the second floor (40" W x 84" D). Because the back portion of it is so low (43" H), I can't figure out a functional way to use it (it's more of a crawl-in closet than a walk-in closet). It's right by the front door, so ideally we'd like to use a good chunk of it for shoes / scarves / hats, etc.

We're renting, so we can't make any permanent (or expensive) changes - but I would love some input/suggestions from anyone who's seen a similar layout or has any organizing ideas.
