it shouldn't be that hard.. My opinion is you get the wood planks according the length, width and thickness od the books.buld the frame, take the pages inside of the book and glue them on to the wood with glue..

i would probably put some vernic after it's been glued.. kind of decoupage..

Cut the pages out of the books, replace them with wood, then screw the pieces together. The tricky part is finding books the same thickness so they are level. I leave the end of the pages in the books on the top so it looks like pages when viewed from the end.

Get an od set of encyclopedias they are usually the same size and thickness.
