New carpet color

Dear friends,
I need some help. I not that good at design and arranging things so that they can look as beautiful as the houses here.
I need an advice what is the suitable color of carpet that I should put in front of the coach?
I want to achieve the effect as a separate and independent place in the room.
I thought about rainbow strips or just black?....
I just admit that I am not good at that :(

I think this space would look better if you lose the rainbows and focus on one or two colors that you love. Any kind of geometric pattern is going to compete with that sofa, so I would probably go with a plain rug, though you might get away with a really large abstract.

You could also use a piece of art above the sofa to set the tone. Then draw your rug and pillow colors from that.

I would also swap the colorful pillows out for something quieter, and get a mid-tone grey rug.

I agree with groveraxle remove those pillows , I would get a plain rug to go with the sofa any colour that you like

I am trying to escape the grey, so I'd probably go for plain black carpet.
But if i remove the rainbow pillows would it be too black?
I kind of like them because they are the only colorful think in the room?

A gray rug would go nicely with the couch, as to not create to hectic of a display.

Just use one of the rainbow pillows, not two. It's your house and your story. What about a simple white flokati to keep the vibe going?

Nadya with your sofa you need something vibrant nothing rugged in texture but rather something lush and soft ,I'm thnking of shag rugs of course ,going back to the 1960s , and I think that MSM Property has the same idea :)

I do like the idea of shug rugs!
It looks really cosy and warm, which something that I'd like!
But should I get plain color like white, neutral or beige or with pattern?

Hi---I love your sofa! Well, I would go very big and bold in this space. Check fashion illustration for artwork. This is one from the Fab---Pippa McManus. Rug at Overstock. Keep the rainbow pillows, but put them on a solid colored chair. Like the pillows you posted above for the sofa. Hope this is helpful. Keep us posted and Good Luck!

Perhaps you would like a Tamara de Lempika painting reproduction above your sofa . Please loose the cushions they belong in a beach house.
