Nurseries have been known to sell mislabeled plants. When the 6-packs were being assembled, you might have gotten one with mixed seedlings. Purple cauliflower is edible and is supposed to taste like white cauliflower. Tie up the leaves to keep your white cauliflower from turning yellowish.

Good to know. Is purple cauliflower generally a looser head like these? They just don't look the same. I'll be tying them up today to keep them white! (Or purple.)

Well that answers the question for sure! (I actually did search the forum for the answer before I posted, but didn't find that thread.) I haven't tied my leaves up, and yes, the white ones are yellowing so I really must get that done, but the ones that are purpling were the first to develop, were "wide open" with no leaves folded over them, and we had a lot of hot, sunny days right about the same time. So, tonight I put those leaves together and soon I will be eating fresh cauliflower! Thanks much all!
