I think most folks plant a new row every couple of weeks, so the harvest is extended.

Many varieties will set a smaller second crop. The easier way is to do the succession planting suggested by nhbabs. Some 60 years I tried a variety named Commodore which was touted as an everbearer. It did bear continuosly for a fair period, but not many at a time. I am one of those folks who like to get a crop in and out, I hate dribling harvests so I did not care for Commodore.

I always get 3 flushes from Jade. The 2nd is actually the largest.

agree. I always prefer the crop all at once, except perhaps for salad tomatoes. If the crop is extended, you have to go through the entire patch every second day. Much better to go through one row at a time.

I get three pickings from Royal Burgundy bush bean, and it's meaty. Contender holds up well, too. Still, I plant bush beans twice, once in late spring and again in early summer.
