Artemisia vulgaris?

a pinched leaf of a tomato.. smells like tomato .. no missing that ...

when i see that runner of a root ... i would hesitate to plant it .. until i had a full ID ... pot it.. and grow it on.. until it flowers.. or the form is more fully developed.. and then ask again ...

if its a keeper.. plant it in fall ...

ps: what kind of nursery couldnt ID it for you ... or did you grab it and run.. laughing maniacally to your car.. lol...

If it's Mugwort or another of the Artemisias, the undersides of the leaves will be white or silvery.

Once Mugwort gets a foothold in your garden, you will never be rid of it.

Thanks, all. Mugwort or artemesia seem likely. The leaves are aromatic. I think I will pitch it.
