Sacramento Historic Rose Garden, April 18 Open Garden

Hi -

It's probably not too early for people to mark their calendars. Our Open Garden will be April 18, 930-3. We have propagated many, many found and rare roses this year, and have a full day of tours and other offerings. It should be a great day. The Sacramento cemetery is an 1850-era Victorian garden cemetery, full of flowers and plants, monuments and statuary. A beautiful place, with nearly 500 old roses in our garden.

Jeri's working on a sales catalog listing roses that we have in multiples, and the Silent Auction roses.

We'll post more info as the date gets closer.

I did mark my calendar already. I hope nothing stops us from going this year.

Thanks for posting that. I had it marked on my calendar already:) Last year my MIL and husband went down for me and had great fun. That was when I got Lupe's Buttons which was such a find. I'm really excited for this event.

Now about that catalog can a person got one in advance? Or just on the 18th?

Thanks again for all that is done to make the Open Garden sale happen.

Yes, the catalog will be posted on our website, and we'll be sure to notify everybody when it's up. It's mouth-watering reading - Jeri makes me want to buy roses that I already have!

Last year something came up which prevented me from going. This year I am determined to be there. It is such a wonderful event.

It is a wonderful social event, too. My rose growing friends are scattered widely so we don't see each other as often as we would wish. This gives forum members a venue for spending time together enjoying our favorite topic -- roses.
