After 3 or 4 years without repotting, the roots are so dense that there is little to no water holding capacity in the potting mixture. Move to a larger pot with new mix and it should revive nicely. You can also unpot it, trim back the roots and repot with new mix in the same conatiner - this is a little more trcky than the first option.

Does it have a compact rounded shape? Could be Viburnum americana compacta spring red or green.
