Leaflets and flower are how big? Might be a polyantha. Foliage resembles The Fairy, which of course it's not.

flower is a little under 2" and a leaf is 1/2" by 3/4".

is it getting enough sun? If you have deer, and it has been discovered......they WILL return and eat it again. Can you move it to sunnier location?

It probably isn't getting a lot of sun. it hasn't been fed for a long time, so I started with that. The deer have ignored it, but with a few buds, they will come .I will spray it with deer repellant, but it will be raining for the next few days.
There Is a buff beauty that cranked out one beautiful flower that is healthy but not growing much. I fertilized everything on the slope this morning. Catch 22, if they start growing better and they will become deer snacks.

My wife loves buff beauty. I may get another plant for my sunny garden and cage it. I need to check on the repeat before assigning it to the limited space.

It's not The Fairy.

It looks like Carefree Wonder in both bloom and foilage. However, there are a number of very similiar looking roses so it could be something else. Best bet would be to dig it up next spring when dormant and pot it up and place in full sun. Then it should be easier to identify in full bloom.

Some of the more available med. red/dark pink hybrid musks seem to have been 'Nur Mahal', 'Will Scarlett' or 'Robin Hood' -- any of those ring a bell? (Just recently looked over photos of those myself, trying to ID a rose in my daughter's backyard.)
