I'd leave those leaves that look healthy...they are helping feed the plant bulb/roots. The oldest leaves will eventually die off as new growth appears. I carry over the Black Taro inside and its winter leaves are rather small and puny but the newer leaves appearing now are much larger. The older leaves are beginning to fall over and will probably die ...it's a natural process. josh

Hey- Thanks Josh ....thought it might have been a real dumb newbie question nobody wanted to answer (chuckle).
Been all over the links, looking for the type I bought at Ace last year. They are light green on the underside and very soft. The topside are somewhat dark changing to light at the edges. The big "viens" on the underside are regular, pronounced and connect together very symmetrically.
The top side of the leaf is smooth and velvety.
In between the "viens" are more very small wavey looking "viens" flowing from the outside edge of the leaves inward.
The stem is very pale green and I wish I could find out exactly what it is named. Wish I had pics.
Wife just bought a Colocasia Esculenta at nursery, it's about 6-8" in pot. Anything different to the potted ones as opposed to the bulbs I am used to?
