New Zealand has exceptionally sweet and delicious fragrance. I love this rose. I haven't cut the bloom for indoors, but I think it would remain fragrant indoors.

Jackson and Perkins Soft Whisper has similar scent to New Zealand, it's a breathtakingly beautiful rose, superb fragrance.

I also grow Frederic. It has a strong scent that reminds me of raspberries, but it can be a bit sour/ tangy at times and not so sweet. I think New Zealand has a much sweeter, finer, fragrance, and a more beautiful bloom.

I like Frederic for an attractive landscape type rose, as the bush spreads out in its growth habit.

I got New Zealand this spring and I've been very happy with it. The blooms are gorgeous and smell wonderful. It did have some powdery mildew early on but that's cleared up and hasn't returned unlike the New Day I got as well and which has had PM all summer.

New Zealand is beautiful, have heard mixed reviews about the plant itself, but I don't own one. I hope to have Frederic Mistral next year.

I think the prettiest and most fragrant light pink/white I have is Royal Highness. It makes me swoon and it blooms quite a bit, lasts well in the vase. I've heard it blackspots for some people.

It's important to understand that Frederic Mistral is literally a double-sized plant compared to other hybrid teas.

Strictly on fragrance alone, NZ wins, but FM was the better plant and the better producer of blooms here. As michaelg says, FM needs a large space.
