I not only sympathize; I empathize. For the 2nd straight year in my garden, Princess Victoria Louise put forth a lovely. . . .clump of leaves. That's it. Nothing more. And she's in one of the primo spots in the garden. Any and all diagnoses and potential solutions gratefully accepted.

My orange ones put out about three blooms each, one of which was newly planted this year. Two other ones that I am not sure of the ID of didn't and a Royal Wedding in year two in a great spot put out short leaves and no blooms. Sad.

I planted three poppies, three years ago. they were quite small. One didnt come back the 2nd year, and neither of the other two bloomed. Last year I got 2 blooms from one of them, this year 8 beautiful blooms from one and 3 from the other. Give them another year, I think they are just slow to mature.

My Pattys Plum had more blooms than usual this year, 8. Helen Elizabeth hardly had any, only 3. who knows why?

No other flower has that effect. Wonderful photo! They do not grow here- at least not for more than a year or two. I love the foliage too.

I could not wait for my poppies to bloom. I was so excited! Of those I planted - one had a bud. It started to bloom on a day I had to work late, got up late the next morning =ran out the door. By the time I got back in the evening, the poppy was done blooming and shattered.
This is not the flower for me. Good bye Victoria.
