I have a large patch of Okinawa spinach also. It's about 12 years old. It has been flowering for a few months now, as it does every fall. I found that their cuttings root easily any time. You should have no trouble with your warmer temps.

Thanks Christine. I have had mine a couple years now but hadn't seen it bloom. If yours is 12 years old I assume you are able to keep eating it after it blooms. When I saw flowers I was afraid it was done.

I had mine for several years as well, but I took it out to try something else. I didn't find it to be an annual.

I eat the leaves whenever I feel like it, skipping the leaves near the flowers because they are so small. This is a very good plant to have in the edible landscape.

As a side note, the flowers don't produce viable seeds. Maybe that's why the plants don't die. It's only enemy seems to be freezing temps and too much direct afternoon sun in the summertime.
