I'd pot them immediately in straight perlite, or perlite with a little potting soil mixed in, mist 'em morning and night, no direct sun, and cross your fingers.

I don't think jasmines root very well in water (somebody correct me if I'm wrong), and the longer you wait the less chance they'll strike. Don't forget the rooting hormone!

Jasmine Sambac cuttings need high humidity and a bright shade. I have had success with coconut husk along with a rooting powder or gel. I use a flat with a high dome.

Anyone know whether cactus potting soil would work? Composition is as follows: 40% peat moss, 35% organic compost (forest products or reed sedge peat, 20% vermiculite, 5% washed sand

The instruction sheet it came with says to use a soilless mix. It also suggested lots of light, i.e. window with southern exposure - that seems to contradict Jim's advice...I'm confused whether to put it on a sunny window or not.
