I smile at this planter about every morning, cuz I'm happy with the grouping of colors. I bought all these plants at a nursery in St. Louis during Regionals. Wishing Well salvia, dark burgundy coleus, peachy salmony verbena and lemon licorice plant. hope they keep filling it. :)

below is a splothcy Siloam John Holland but I liked how it was hugging up to the balloon flower this morning. and next is Midnight Aura with some Heuchera, and Lake Norman Spider.

Below are photos of Lightning Flash coreopsis, you should grow this somewhere sunny just for its leaf color, really brightens up the center of the garden. :) ÃÂ and finally BIG BIG Siloam Goliath. I'm still trying to get the pollen to stick to something, alas. ha

The companion plants of the coleus pick up all the different hues. Goliath is mammoth. Do you feel the scape height is just right?

I really liked your pot grouping. I looked up Wishing Well Salvia but couldn't find anything except Windy's Wish Salvia which looked like yours. A relatively new perennial from Australia. Whatever it's called it sure got my attention......Is the lime green color on Lightening Flash Coreopsis just on the new growth? Does it flower? I'm finding your mixed garden very interesting..........As to daylilies I like the Goliath one. Nice form..........Maryl

I like daylilies that are immediately identifiable, i.e. they look so distinctive that they can't be confused with anything else. Lake Norman Spider is one of those daylilies. Thanks for sharing your companion plants as well.

Maryl, oops, yes, that is Wendy's Wish!! ha I'm terrible with names once I remember it one wrong way, that gets stuck ugh! the coreopsis is that color all over until about this time of year only the newer tips as shown in photo. supposed to have yellow flowers in late summer, but I grow it for the foliage. Here is a photo from the other side of the house in late may with an amaryllis which paired nicely.

Dean, lovely photos of all your plants. Wish I could have met you at Sandy Nall's DL sale. I am not sure she will be doing it next year, sure hope so. Also, I love the Wendy's Wish salvia, thought I would order it from California this year, but didn't happen, maybe next year. All the photos of it look great to me. Avedon

Your container garden looks so pretty!! Siloam Goliath is one I will put on my wish list. I love huge daylily blooms.
