The Basic method of choice for me is (1) Take a tip cutting of firm new growth (2) remove all leaves but 1 tip leaf (3) If that leaf is large cut in in half(4) apply a rooting hormone of adequate strength. (for the plants you have named us 0.1% IBA) (5) stick in well drained soil & Mist several times a day (6) keep plant out of direct sun & have indirect lighting (7) avoid strong draft but the air should ciuculate freely around the cuttings.

Yiorges..I dug up and planted some perennials to take to a plant swap next Saturday. I thought it was done in plenty of time but several are looking pretty sad. I moved them under the eaves of the house and under the dogwood tree. I hope they recover by the next week. I'd love to take along some columbine plants but am afraid they will wilt before I get there. They are a tender perennial in my opinion.
