Certainly! I wouldn't bring them in though until the temps are in the 40's though. Mature plants tend to tolerate cooling a bit better than youngins.

Productivity will definitely slow once you bring them in, not only because of temps and filtered window light, but also the aperture(angle) of the sun itself -- it's just not as BRIGHT in the fall/winter than in the spring/summer.

The pods will also lose SOME heat as the months pass, but my xmas pods still had plenty last year..

But, by all means, go for it! You have nothing to lose.

I hear you about the sun. My deck faces North and from Mid-May to early August my plants (my potted palms too) get sun all day. Now almost zip. I moved them all to the front of the house (facing south) last weekend. I'm just hoping for a warm October

Andy those plants will handle weather down to mid 40s with not much trouble the next 3 days looks to be in the 90's normally i don't worry much with the weather until mid October with frost and then you can still cover them with plastic in the evening and pull it off in the morning after the dew has already set .

Okay, so my Scotch Bonnets are only just setting fruit as of last week. Do you think there's a chance at all that they'll ripen before frost? Do night-time temperatures have to be consistently in the 40's before I bring them in? I started them from seed indoors in late March and am fighting frustration here. :)

I'm not so much concerned with when to bring them in. I'm just wondering if I have a chance to get any fruit and what I can do once inside to keep them going. I overwintered 5 last winter and they came through with flying colors. Those, however had been going all summer. these are just starting to put flowers out. I was hoping to get a few peppers from them. I'll just have to wait and see. I do have grow lights I can help them with once they do come in for the winter. heading to 90 today. Too bad it won't keep up for a couple of weeks.
