store cannas?

Do you dig your cannas or leave them. I've left them for the last 4 yr. and this yr. no flowers. How do you treat yours? Suggestions? TIA.

I don't grow cannas anymore but when I did I used to dig them up and treat them similar to my dahlias,In my area it is the kiss of death to leave them in the ground.

I always dig them up.--I'm actually surprised to here anyone in Z5 can leave them in the ground without losing them. Last year I stored them in large pots covered in dirt. They came back just fine, but only one bloomed. I don't think the likelihood of bloom or not is set by the storage method, but by the variety of canna and the weather patterns. Well, and as early a start on getting them going again in the spring as is reasonable.

OK thanks. I'm going to try to dig and save this yr. if it doens't work just another experiment in the garden!!
