Okay, so the lidded piece isn't a sugar bowl! :) Part of it is a sake set. I'm afraid I don't know if the larger spouted piece is a tea pot or not, but the open bottles & small cups are the sake part. Hopefully someone else will pop into the thread to help you out. mfrog

Accurate identification by mfrog. It's a traditionally styled tea set (pot plus the larger cups are tea cups) and sake cups and decanters. Traditional in both design and ornamentation and in that it has the common number of serving cups. Groups of five instead of Western numbers of six or eight and no creamer and sugar. It's really pretty. Not old. I don't read that particular script, can't help with the marks. Value? What you can potentially get out of it. It's not cheap but I see no indication that it's something rare or extraordinary either.

Thanks Calliope for jumping in! I don't know much about Asian (antique or not) & it seems like there is a lot of it out there right now. I guess the craze for it in the 50's, those people are now getting rid of it. mfrog
