LOTTO - November 2013

This month I've tried a 9" block for a change. This is a simple, fast block that makes a nice secondary pattern and once again, it looks great using pastels of small prints. I used 30s prints but any small print would work. To make them all match, the background should be white or WOW, not cream. Keep the colors on the light side so they play well together. You'll notice I made lots of samples to get an idea of color and layout.

I will publish December soon as well so you can all get a head start before the holiday madness hits us.

Our block is Paths and Stiles, link below. All the usual lotto guidelines still apply.

1. with your blocks include name, mailing address, forum name and $1 to cover postage for the winning blocks.

2. if possible, either attach your name to the back of each block or write your name in the seam allowance with a fabric pen so the winner knows who made the block (this is not a requirement, just a request)

3. all blocks received by the last day of the month will be included in the lotto drawing

4. you will have 1, 2 or 3 chances to win, depending on how many blocks you've sent in.

Blocks are mailed to Valarie who will arrange the drawing at the end of the month. If you need her address, find her "ittlehelen" name on a previous lotto and send her (or me) a msg.

I've got three made, but will make my Dec blocks before mailing. These sewed together really quickly. It will make a lovely quilt.

Love that block, but just won't be able to make November or December. I'm turning into a child-care grannie again for a little while....son is having back surgery so I'll be helping with child care.

Here are my three, they will go out tomorrow. Don't put me in the drawing for this one. It is a very pretty block, but I have enough on my plate to sew. (Although I can't pass up the chance for December's blocks. HEHEHE)

Greetings...sorry I'm a few days late with the November drawing...time ran away from me. Hey we have 22 beautiful blocks...I'm hoping someone is on line and will pick a number from 1 to 22...I'll be waiting.

I didn't expect this...#4 is me...it's perhaps the second lotto this year I actually threw my name into the hat...Toolgranny can verify the random numbers as I send the list to her, then ask for someone to pick a number...oh my......?!?!?

Congratulations, Valarie. Yes, I saw how the number was generated and your number got picked so I know it was all done above board. At least now you don't have to go to the trouble of packing and mailing. LOL

Let us see the results when you get them all together. It should make a lovely quilt.
