Haven't tried them yet (stone switch plateas) but have a neighbor that faux painted hers to match her new tumbled travetine back splash and they look awesome!

cloud_swift had stunning switchplates made from their granite (by Columbia). If you go to my clippings and scroll down you can see pictures of their switchplates as well as a description of the process.

I ordered the ceramic switchplates for GFI outlets from Subway Ceramics. Like their field tile, the switchplate was lovely and well-made. Unfortunately, the opening to accommodate the outlet is too large, so I'm going to see if I can return it to them. I don't know if it's an issue with the particular batch of switchplates I ordered or if the GFI outlets I have are off-sized.
