$1.98 at a discounter?

Sophie, no it's not 1.98. It is 13.99 a sq ft. It is from The Tile Shop. I want to make sure I am purchasing quality. Before I go through three different cities looking for a matching porcelain floor tile for the bathroom.

I am not using marble in the shower. I am following the advice I received from my other post. I found a porcelain to use for shower. It is an exact match to this marble . I wanted a porcelain rectangle tile to use in a herringbone pattern for the bathroom floor. But couldn't fine one on Saturday

I will look until I find a better quality. I do not want my floor cracking after install

I just discussed with my husband. I am not doing marble at all. We will find a nice porcelain.

We used to be able to depend on "marble" being "marble". With the proliferation and explosion of global commerce, and the power of internet shopping? Today's marble can be marble or it can be garbage. It's really too bad. It truly is a buyer beware market these days when it comes to natural stone, especially with marble.

Changing to porcelain? It's a smart move. As the marble market has gone south (so to speak) the porcelain market has exploded. The quality, the realism of porcelain that mimics natural stone? Some of it is pretty darn bueno.

Mongo! Thank you. This is a two week manicure. I always wear gloves when doing dishes. :). I am blessed with a long nail bed. My nail lady gives me a great discount because I get so much business referred to her. :).

Yup, It does look like a very inferior marble. I would never pay that for it. You can likely find better quality and a better price at a non-chain tile store. Otherwise, I agree with the others. Porcelain is the way to go.
