I'd hang curtain panels floor to ceiling in the same shade as the pink wall.

From your picture I agree that it is a bit too dark. I think what you can do is to pick and choose from with list below, instead of repaint it:

1) Get lighting fixture with cool color bulb

2) Place oversized mirror to reflect the lights.

3) Hang white floor to ceiling white curtain

You have four walls to paint. "Way too expensive" is a gallon or two of Benjamin Moore "Wish" and the formula cut to 1/2 strength at the paint store by the mixer. Now (dear hubby, or good girlfriend, or whomever).......roll up your sleeves, cover the floor, and have at it. While you're there at the hardware store......get some lightbulbs...incandescent. One day, and done.You'll notice I said FOUR walls.....because your gray is taking on the pink tone from the one wall, and your exposure ( daylight) may be far different than that of your inspirational photo. ADD your girly , girly, pink in curtains, chair cushion....art,( you can create your own art you know! ) and whatever else you like. And nice that your crib is WHITE : )

Yes, I'd repaint...and if it's not perfect don't stress. And I don't think I'd hang curtains to the floor with a baby...they will pull on it, hang on it, swing on it...LOL
