Celery plants for hostas...

I don't know what came over me... I did it without thinking. Pfff...

I went and divided two huge hostas last week, ones that had truly been crowding my rock garden since last year. And not wanting to completely dig out the mother plants, I took out 3/4 of one, a 1/4 of the other and left the rest in. But needing to see and better define what I was about to do, I went and chopped all the leaves of hosta parts I was about to take out of the ground.

Spur of the moment !! Dumb ? I didn't think anything other than... all those other plants I have been moving and/or dividing in my garden for years, and that often do so much better with hard pruning when transplanted, to encourage new root growth.

So my new hostas now look like celery plants sticking out of the ground...

Someone please reassure me, and tell me those hostas are going to come back next spring ??

Thanks a million,

Vibi (zone 3b-4a)
