Did you seal the brick behind the cooktop?

Love this look. We are building and I have an designed arch around my cooktop. My concern is the maintenance of the backsplash and surround considering it will definitely get some grease/food splatter. How did you resolve this?

Anticipating these concerns, the wall behind the range is finished with a custom iron fireback. The fireback has an arched shape, and in the photograph, one springpoint appears behind the left burners. Thank you for your interest in the project.

The lighter countertop is Spanish Gold marble with an antiqued finish. Next to the stove, we switched to Rosso Laguna with a honed finish. Thank you for your interest in the project.
