some ideas

Kind of depends on your budget. You could do a reservoir with decorative overflowing pot for a water feature without all the maintenance of a pond. You would need an electrical outlet up in that area. Some decorative stone. And some lighting for night views would be nice. I will find some photos for you.

Doug has big idea. My thought slightly less ambitious. But something that blends with nature.

I have electric across from the wall

I am loving the ideas. At first I debated digging it all out and creating a pond with a wooden walkway to walk over. I am liking either a rock garden or pond maybe a waterfall.

My wife thinks the pond, waterfall will bring snakes and other rodents. Maybe a water feature and not pond. more of a dry pond

I have had both ponds with waterfalls and faux ponds with recirculating water that goes into reservoir and is recirculated. Only birds come to the recirculating waterfall. Ponds are MUCH MORE WORK to maintain, especially if you have trees shedding leaves. Go with recirc faux look. You get the sounds of water flowing and interesting stone with minimal maintenance.

Yes. Here is a shot of the waterfall over large boulder in back and the dry river bed that runs across our backyard under a slab of stone that bridges the river bed. I used two tones of stone. The black, smooth rocks represent the “water” but no water runs down the faux stream. Enjoy!

One more. You can see the stone bridge and a bit of the fire pit. Various “destinations” across the back yard.

Thanks I am going to have mason come by to see any other ideas. I was also planning on enlarging the area to make it beneficial to use but I think a huge boulder is buried underneath so will have to wait and see.
