Options for shelving/furniture to sides of fireplace w/slanting sides

The livingroom pictured is 12 feet wide and 18 feet from fireplace to archway (entry out of sight to left of arch). The fireplace is 6 feet wide. I'd like to have shelving (built in or free-standing) for display/books, but the shape of the fireplace/chimney has me stymied. The accent wall and fireplace will be repainted as well.
