I had a layout like this at one time. It is hard to walk in and out with the couch like this. Can you give us measurements of the room and more pictures with your back to the sliding glass doors?

That would help a lot.

There isn't much space between that large sofa(I know it's sellers) and the stools. I'd remove that chair rail, create a focal point wall and have the sofa facing the wall.

I like what Mae Day shows. The sectional in the first picture closes off the seating area, making a large and spacious room feel tight and constricted. Look at those barstools, for example. If people are seated there, the pathway to get in and out of the sectional is almost completely closed.

How wonderful to have someone on this forum that knows the house. What is the dining area like? We ended up switching the dining area for the living room area and that worked really well. At least for the folks who ended up buying our house. But we lived with it like the folks have it in the pictures, for years. It was so cramped.

I am certain that shirlpp can guide you through this because she knows the house. I don't know the measurements or what it is like in the dining area but I put this 3D rendition together on a whim knowing that it may not work. But hey why not throw the idea out there? In this you will find a small corner sectional, a padded ottoman with storage, a TV media surround with storage, 2 small chairs for extra seating for guests.

Then there is doing something that is really out of the box, yes, and unusual.

By putting a screen on the side of the sliding glass doors that does not open (yes I know it blocks the view but makes room for your furniture).

Set the TV on a low console with storage in front of it
