Removing Paint from Interior Brick Wall

I have a condo in an old factory. The first floor the one wall is painted solid white on the brick. This has been there a long time. I don't want to remove all of the paint but want it to look weathered I guess you would call it, remove some of the white paint. What is easiest way to do this? Some of the condo units are removing with dry sandblasting but it supposedly takes all the paint off. I don't want the bricks to look new or all solid red. Any suggestions on how to take off just some of the paint? My upper two floors look great, the walls are weathered looking, a lot of the white is off. Any ideas would be helpful. I know or figure it won't be easy but am looking for suggestions. Thanks!
