Mine spread from the roots when happy - if yours is spreading too much, can you cut back on the irrigation it receives?

Was it M. fistulosa, punctata, clinopodia.....I have never had a named variety seed.

You know....I remember when I was more of an adhoc gardener (vs more native specialist) and I thought that some plants (like obedient plant, monarda fistulosa, liatris pycnostachys,etc) were trying to take over the world.

Now that I'm trying more naturalized landscaping and wanting clump increases...darn, nothing seems to self-propagate and spread at all. Really, I've been thinking this all spring. That being said, I do need to move some american holly and a fringetree seedling I found just yesterday.
