You must be a member of this group FOTESS (Friends of the Earth Simple Swaps) in order to participate this month.
We are all about keeping things simple for this month
Sea’s & Greetings! THE BEACH for me, please! From sea to shining sea we will be celebrating with each of our members ‘snow or the beach’ during this busy holiday season!
When You sign up PLEASE know that you will be sending a card to EACH member that signs up – for example if we have (3) members signup you will send (2) cards, if (8) members sign up you will send (7) and so forth.
Signups to participate ends DEC 7th you may start mailing ASAP!
1) A HOLIDAY card – (handmade or store bought)
2) OPTIONAL … you may include seeds but not required
3) OPTIONAL … you may include a small tuck in to your cards but not required
NO NEED TO HAVE a tracking number.

You WILL NEED TO post here when you mail out AND post again once you have received each card.

SUNBURNT....OMG.....Laughing to hard. The soap opera, THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES, did you watch that??? Any other FOTESSERS watch that soap opera. I never did. I only watched General Hospital and One Life to Live....and not all the time as I was in grade school. The Days Of Our Lives, if memory serves me had an hourglass in the opening of the show, Tik, Tok, Tik, Tok!Is that show still on TV SUNBURNT???
Nicole,the above drink is no big shakes. I put a little cacoa in with the ground coffee in my coffee maker. I put a dollop of honey and cream in the coffee cup and stir......I prefer other honeys over the chocolate. I sometimes take a cup of coffee, add honey and cream and then chill it good......Love this too.
The sign...funny. It is Sea Hag, not Sea Nag but that would work too LOL!

4 months agoI make these cookies for the holidays. Its always a hit with the guests. Its from Betty Crocker. If you bake it the next day, its even better. I like the bite size so I usually use a small ice cream scooper to scoop up the cookie dough.
ROUND 7 - HOLIDAY COOKIE RECIPE
Extraordinary Chocolate Chip CookiesPrep Time 1 hr 25 min
Total Time 1 hr 40 min Servings 72
Ingredients1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 eggs
4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 bag (24 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (4 cups)
Directions1. Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed or with spoon until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips.
2. On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by tablespoonfuls or #40 cookie/ice cream scoop 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly.
3. Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.

4 months agoIts not a cookie but lemon bar which i enjoy baking.
here is the recipe for the lemon bars:
preheat oven to 350 degreescookie base:
2 sticks butter melted
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 cups flour
combine these ingredients and press into a 13x9 pan . poke holes with a fork. bake for about 20 minutes.
while crust is baking, make the filling.
filling:2 cups sugar
4 eggs
6 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. lemon zest
4 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
pour filling over the hot crust and bake for another 25 minutes. (I usually cook five more minutes so the crust on top is a little darker)i usually make this the day before i'm going to serve it...it needs to be completely cooled in the pan before cutting or transferring and the filling really takes a while to set...always better the day after. You can sprinkle powder sugar after you cut them into bars or mini pieces (bite sizes)

I appreciate the traditional recipes for cookies, so we go pretty simple. Peanut butter, chocolate chip, and sugar cookies.
These are the best sugar cookies ever, in my opinion. They are Ethel's Sugar Cookies from an old 1960s Betty Crocker Recipe book that my mom made with us when we were kids.
Ingredients1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions- Mix butter, shortening, sugar, eggs, lemon juice and vanilla thoroughly.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, and blend into egg mixture.
- Divide dough into two discs. Cover each with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Remove the dough from the refrigerator and allow it to sit on the counter for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the temperature of your kitchen.
- Roll out dough to 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured board.
- Cut into desired shapes and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Place on an ungreased baking sheet
- Bake for 6 to 8 minutes at 400°F, until cookies are a delicate golden color. Cool on a wire rack.

I love participating in the games but I have no business making cookies right now...LOL! But I did!! Good grief, Bad Grief...not quite sure. I have so much cooking in here right now...it is a mess!!
My buddy said try these ....real easy....will not take much time....so I did!! They are only OK....need to be perfected but not today.
EASY IN A PINCH SUGAR COOKIES
Easy In A Pinch Sugar Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanillaIn separate bowl/plate combine
3 T granulated sugar
Sweet Ground Chocolate (optional)Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Line large baking sheets with parchment paper.
In mixing bowl, with electric mixer (not Kitchen Aide...use handheld), beat together softened butter and sugar until combined.
Add in flour and vanilla....mix together.
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls.
Gently roll the balls in the sugar (and chocolate if using) until lightly coated; transfer to the baking sheets 2 inches apart.
With the bottom of a measuring cup or glass, press down on the balls to flatten.
Bake for 14-16 minutes or until just slightly golden around the edges and on the bottom. Allow to rest on the baking sheets for at least 10-15 minutes.
