Morning ladies.......should be very nice here today. Partly cloudy with slight wind out of the NW.... cold front came through last evening and has cooled things off nicely.....watched the sun rise this morning at 57 degrees, should hit a high of low 80's today but lower humidity ........ Friday, so it's house cleaning day (light cleaning) with an occasional nap. Didn't sleep at all last night as the leg and hip was causing much pain ........doctor's appointment can't get here soon enough (20th).

have a good day everybody........Kimdee keep em in the fairway.

Morning OLLDs, what a beautiful peaceful photo Kd. Dogs are so funny when they dream, I knew of one that even used to bark and get quite excited until he was patted and then he settled again. Have a good day at golf, and stay out of the sand!!!

Well, I've had a bit of a reprieve with BH, he saw a specialist here and his tendon is healing itself so no op at this time. The break is not in a good place to operate on successfully anyway. He has the absolute Rolls Royce in boots, honestly you wouldn't want to get too close to it, even the specialist was impressed with it, and is on crutches as well. He will be in the boot for about 10 weeks, then it will be physio to get everything moving again. He has to sleep in the boot too so tosses and turns all night trying to get comfortable. Fortunately, he is allowed to drive so can take himself out and annoy other people, but the crutches and boot really tire him out quickly so to date, he has spent most of his days cat napping.

Kutchie, seeing what BH is coping with, I really feel your pain, more so when yours just goes on and on. I just hope this month's harpoon has something special for you. Have you had any pain management counselling at all, or is it even beyond that?

Our weather seems to have had a temporary break after weeks and weeks of above average temps we got a southerly change yesterday with a very bitter wind. Even down in the alps it got down to -12 deg C, that is super cold for us.

Have a good Friday 13th all.

Forgot to mention, saw the boardwalk fire in NJ on TV tonight, it looked bad. What a disaster after all the rebuilding they have done following Sandy. Do they know what caused it?

I might have good news on the property in Q :) that has been nothing but trouble since Labor Day weekend.
The parking situation is being taken care of (YAY) and I spoke to the landlord about possible landscaping.
Currently, it looks terrible. All they need to do really is put in a couple of evergreens. Landlord tends to go on and on about how he is in debt and he has all this work to do,etc etc. it's enough to fill volumes :) But the truth is that his company owns tons and tons of property, some of it old Victorian homes and no one is making him buy it, you know? So it's his responsibility to make sure his renters will not be tearing up the repair work and will shovel their sidewalks and will not be obnoxious neighbors. There are plenty of responsible renters or renters who can learn :) BUT, he agreed to put in some plantings and I am to call him in 2 weeks to remind him (like he can't write a note) I offered some plants as a peace offering :)
The last time the police came, a bunch of kids were hiding near vehicles and around bushes on other property holding on to their beer :) So the cops are on the porch with a flashlight and the renters are hiding inside (AS IF) and the cop says "I can see you" --if I hadn't been so tired it would have been funny.

Hey roo..... good news on BH glad to hear it.. To answer your question , No. I haven't had any pain management counseling proper other than the basic ice for swelling, heat for soreness and stay off it. I've developed a high tolerance for pain though over the years.........been fighting this beast Acromegaly for 13 years and a normal pain day for me is in the 5-6 range on a scale of 1-10.....there are very few days that I'm not in pain (muscles and joints) and as the fatigue increases so does the pain. Bad days are 8-9 on the pain scale (not much is accomplished then) and really bad days 10, I just stay in bed. Most of the time I rely on Aleave for pain medication to cope. Really bad days I switch to Vicodin...............when the hip pops out, that's a 12 event and definitely results in a Vicodin dosage. The hips has only been bothering me for the past year or so when I fell last summer.........but now the other hip is following suite........it's been overly stressed since the fall and I guess now I'm going to start having the same problem with it..........it popped out once last week and once over last weekend......Hopefully, come the 20th, my Orthopedic will make a decision for the implant or implants............this can't go on, I'm trapped and limited to what I can do. Just rising up from a sitting position can cause it to pop out.......I have to be very deliberate in standing up,.... using my arms a lot and slowly straightening up.

I really don't mind growing old..............but this falling apart just sucks big time.....................!

Hello all... it is HOT here today. And it was yesterday too. I heard on the radio that we broke a record for daytime high yesterday -- AND we were hotter than Los Angeles was yesterday. Amazing weather for the middle of September. I hope it continues.

Kutchie, I just ache reading your problems, oh for a magic wand!!! There is certainly nothing like pain to wear you out and as you say the more tired you are the worse things are. It also reduces your thinking levels and can lead to silly accidents that would not normally happen. It is a nasty downward spiral, I really feel your frustration.

Definitely too one damaged part of the body leads to other damaged parts when everything tries to compensate. This boot BH has to wear actually raises his leg about 1 1/2" off the ground which makes one leg longer than the other so trying to walk on it has aggravated his back problems. He found a platform on line that he can attach to any shoe to balance out his other leg which is helping but now the doctor has angled the foot of the boot down 30 deg he has to rely on the crutches all the time and they are very tiring to use also.

I do hope the Orthopod will push ahead for the implants for you, surely he can't leave you like this any longer, although there are some conditions that have to reach a certain point for a more successful operation. Does your condition cause the actual socket bone to deteriorate? Can they totally replace this?

Yep, growing old sure sucks, I guess that is why they say youth is wasted on the young.
