Deborah, how are you and your garden doing, anyway? Busy I'm sure, but I'll bet you've got roses blooming. The witchy cake is so cute and clever. The curled up toes remind me of the Wicked Witch crushed under Dorothy's house in the Wizard of Oz movie. I'm a huge fan of all the Oz books, and when I was 14, I was a flower in the school musical, also the Wizard of Oz. We flowers sang to the Tin Woodsman, "When a man's an empty kettle, he should be his mettle, regarding love and art"....or so I think those were the words back in 1960. I want to show you how your sunflower ended its life of sacrifice to the birds. Sorry for reposting this, folks.
Yes, Sheila, I loved Ingrid's Sea Lavender, and even bought some seed from Swallowtail Garden Seeds years ago. I sadly realized it would never be hardy here, so I gifted the seeds to Cori Ann, who had sent me seeds from her peony poppies. I wonder if she ever grew the sea lavender, but I'm still waiting to grow some peony poppies, and still have Cori Ann's seeds.
Jim, those autumn colored shrubs and trees and the most stunning I have seen. Great photos. Haven't your trees dropped their leaves yet? Most of our have, but the stubborn snowball bush is still changing color, and the elderberry never does change color, just eventually drops its leaves. Leaf drop around here takes all winter for months of mess. Diane/the mysterious Nanadoll
Deborah, here is the poor sunflower. The birds loved him, and I want to grow more.
