We had a meeting to go over our ideas and plans... he took what we told him and made it 100 times better than we ever imagined. Jesse York brought our ideas to a reality beyond what we imagined. We had grading obstacles with the yard as well as many different ideas as well as adding a pool. WOW! Jesse is an incredibly talented architect designer! We had a blank slate and a design style in mind but no idea how to fit it all in and make it work. Jesse took so much time in reviewing all ideas, goals and must have elements during our consultation phase. He then painted the canvas and produced a design far better than we could’ve ever imagined. We then reviewed what was already perfect and made modifications in subsequent consultations after getting bids from general contractors and feedback from the HOA. The 3D lifelike videos are unreal and helped put us in the actual design like it was real life! Jesse is extremely responsive and doesn’t disappear after getting paid for his work. He under promises and over delivers! I’ve done multiple high end landscaping projects over the years and hired many different architects along the way. Jesse is by far the most creative, imaginative and overall professional architect we’ve ever come across. You simply won’t find a better professional that will craft the perfect design for whatever landscape design needs you will have.

We were introduced to Jesse through a friend; Jesse is a very creative landscape designer. Jesse took our ideas and requirements and developed an incredible design for the backyard; we fell in love with the design right from the start. It didn't take us much longer to get this finalized so we could have the construction company start the work. Throughout the project, Jesse was available for any questions, consistently visited our site to answer questions from the construction company, and made any adjustments based on the ground reality or practical constraints. The final result has been an amazing backyard our family can enjoy for years. I highly recommend Jesse and THANK YOU for all your help in making our fantastic backyard dream a reality.

My wife and I had Jesse design our front yard. Our desire was for a completely new look with extensive hardscape. We had a pretty detailed list of desires (mid-century feel, multiple elevations, planters, retaining walls) and a target budget. Jesse took this input and made a plan that exceed our expectations. The final cost was right in line with our initial budget. Jesse was easy to work with, always prompt with communications and worked in our timeline. He was also very helpful making revisions to the plan to meet the demands from city hall. We would definitely recommend him.

We hired Jesse in February of 2021 to create a landscape design for our house. Our initial meeting went well – he seemed like a nice guy and experienced in his field. However, pretty quickly he was not meeting the timeline he had set out for us, offering various excuses in place of artifacts that he promised to deliver. We were understanding when the first draft of our landscape design arrived almost a month later than he had promised and to be honest we really liked a lot about that initial design. Unfortunately, after submitting our notes on the first draft we have not heard back from him; indeed we have not heard from Jesse at all in over 4 months! I have sent several emails and left voicemails which have all gone unanswered. We have wasted months with Jesse that we could have spent with a reliable landscape designer, not to mention the $750 initial deposit which he hasn’t returned. To say we are disappointed with Jesse is an understatement and I am baffled as to how he has managed to maintained an acceptable reputation on this site when he ghosts customers like this. We found Jesse to be unprofessional to the point where simply throwing away our money would have been a better idea than doing business with him – please beware.

We hired Jesse to do a complete re-design of our front and back yard. We were adding a pool & spa, large cabana as well as all hardscape. Jesse was able to bring our vision to life with his amazing design skills. He was able to bring valuable information on the best way to build what we wanted. Additionally Jesse was very patient as we changed directions a couple of times! In the end we have a wonderful design that we are excited to get started on building. I would highly recommend Jesse!

Working with Jesse on our backyard design was great. He’s personable, professional, knowledgeable, and very talented. He took the time to learn about our lifestyle, as well as our home’s decor style, to create a design suitable for fun, function, and fashion. We worked with Jesse on a complete backyard do-over, from front fence to back fence, side to side. After 15 years with the "wrong" space, it was time to bring in an expert, and Jesse was PERFECT for our project. A few specific things we really appreciated: from the very first interaction, Jesse really listened to our wishes and needs. His first draft of a design was spot-on, with only minor tweaks before the final version. He did a great job of walking us through options (pool vs not, built in trash can or not, etc) so we didn't end up wasting money. He had really strong knowledge of real-life use of the space for our active, social family. Best of all, he was able to bridge the design/wishes gap between my (accountant) husband and I in a way that met both our needs. Jesse and his crew did an incredible job helping us formulate and execute our landscape project. They were very professional and listened to our concerns. It turned out beautifully. We have had many positive comments. I would have given 5 stars but the irrigation has been troublesome with the drip system and we do hand water some plants.

I wanted to build a pool and remodel my backyard. I was referred to Jesse by a local pool company. I had met with a handful of landscape designers and none of them got my vision. Then I met Jesse York. He understood what I was trying to achieve. He worked up 3D renderings of the design I wanted and added his expertise to make it perfect. He was very fast to respond to any questions and very flexible with design changes or adjustments. His design included the overall look of the pool and yard, BBQ, Pergola, Fire pit, pavers, lighting, plant call out, irrigation and on and on. Very complete construction drawings. My backyard is a paradise and the neighbors are a little jealous. I look forward to working with Jesse on the front yard redo later this year. I hired jesse to do a 3d model of my pool and backyard landscape for our massive transformation into the tropical oasis that we are looking for. His design and modeling were spot on from the pictures we showed him that we wanted our project to look like. We hired Jesse York to design the front and back yard for our newly constructed home in San Diego. Overall, we are extremely pleased with Jesse’s design and input throughout the design process. Jesse was highly recommended by one of our neighbors and we have since recommended him to other neighbors. Our design featured a pool, raised pool deck, BBQ area, custom water feature, courtyard, and semi-circular driveway. We also expressed extensive planting preferences and product specifications. Jesse was accommodating as to every element of the design. He looked at all the photos and clippings I collected and made valuable recommendations for achieving the same look at lower cost. The first design he delivered was spot-on to what we had asked. Of course, we were not as happy with the functionality of that design as we initially anticipated and requested that he materially change the back yard. Jesse delivered a new design within several week and we were thrilled. I found Jesse’s 3D software to be very helpful in reviewing plans, before creating actual build-out blueprints. And it was very easy for Jesse to make minor changes when we requested--while meeting with us--so we could immediately see the effect and decide if this was something we really wanted. The other great benefit of working with Jesse was that he was proactive in establishing relationships with our HOA and the local fire department. He knew our Architectural Guidelines in and out and had studied the approved planting list before we could even provide a copy. As a result of Jesse’s experience, relationships, and knowledge, our plans were approved on the first submission, while many of our neighbors struggled for months to revise their plans to suit the HOA’s preferences. I’m also extremely grateful for Jesse’s efforts to design within budget. Having a masterpiece on paper that you cannot afford to complete is frustrating and forces you back to square one on the process. I outlined my budget to Jesse in the first meeting and although the bids we collected varied widely, numerous reputable contractors came in within 10% of the mark we established with Jesse. Jesse was further helpful in reviewing the bids and advising us how we can save money through material substitution without sacrificing the overall look and design. He also took the time to educate us about various contractors and how the landscaping bidding and build-out process worked in our area. For all these reasons, we were very satisfied with Jesse’s work and have recommended him to others.
