Decorate With Whatever Moves You
I've got a confession right from the start: There aren't any actual planes or trains in this ideabook, and very few cars. But don't let that deter you from reading on. What you will find are plenty of rooms that reference these modes of conveyance, whether with a propeller here, a train rendered in art there, or a honkin' big car grill sticking out of a kitchen island. Whatever moves you. Check out all the transportation-inspired ideas.
For the family that really loves their car? Well, it's a good conversation piece, to say the least! And I've got to hand it to them for having some fun with their decor.
One large propeller takes the place of sculpture here. It proves that with a restrained hand, you can share your passion through your decor without veering towards the theme-y.
In an urban loft, it's possible there could be way more space in your dining room than in your garage. Make the most of it by bringing an impeccably clean bike inside.
I guess it's a popular idea! Here it's done again in a completely different home.
Coming in for landing! A few model planes decorate this young aviation fan's room.
For a more grownup take, a simple airplane print dresses up the nightstand and unites the colors of this room.
That gorgeous Braniff poster actually makes up the front doors of a wardrobe. You can easily switch out the panels if your child ends up outgrowing her airplane phase.
A few retro train illustrations look fresh when placed in simple modern frames.
Airplanes, cars, boats — these homeowners obviously have a passion for all things that move.
Funky repurposed license plates call to mind the road — whether used to render a car or anything, really.
If the cars didn't give away this guy's passion, the art on the walls certainly would. While it might be major overkill inside the home, it's perfectly agreeable for dressing up the garage.
Westward, ho! Enough with all these engine-run machines. Before all that, there was the trusty wagon. Those wheels can still make their way into decor to provide a rustic note.
Have you got any train hobbyists, airplane fanatics or other transportation enthusiasts at home? How do you incorporate their love into your interiors?
