Put a Spring in Your Home's Step With Kelly Green
Why should foliage have all the fun? Bring vibrant kelly green inside to energize your interior designs.
It's spring, and everything green is declaring itself. Northern California is so green right now it almost hurts the eyes.
It's making me want to bring it all inside — to add some of its vibrance and freshness and aliveness to my interior space. House plants help (the palm in the corner of my living room makes me very happy), but sometimes you've got to take it a step further.
Kelly green is not the first color you think of when planning an interior. It has unfortunate associations with St. Patty's Day and that horrible acrylic sweater your mom made you wear to third-grade picture day.
But it deserves another chance. Kelly green is so very easy on the eyes. And on walls, furniture and accessories, it can be downright showstopping.

If these wall could talk, they would probably be kind of conceited. It's hard to remain modest when you are so uniquely beautiful.
More green walls. These get their own matching throw pillows. I think the rug is a misstep, but an easy one to remedy.
Green tile. How could you not feel fresh as a daisy getting ready in the morning in this bathroom? It's like an Irish Spring commercial come to life.
This luminous strip of green in a neutral bathroom adds an organic element and some much-needed color.
If a green wall is a bit much, go for some fabric. Here, botanicals, chevrons and abstract patterns come together in lovely kelly greenness.
Phil Chair
Could you do a chair? This one is crazy expensive, but imagine it in your white and wood-grain kitchen.
I love the green here: headboard, bed skirt, pillows and sofa pillows. But I do wish the other colors were brighter. Nothing pops like bright white and kelly green.
The green window frames look modern and fresh. They also enhance the view.
I'm a big fan of painting furniture (especially if you are lucky enough to find a great piece on the street). This changing table absolutely pops against the striped walls.
