This ancient pathway was recovered, stonewalls restacked, and bamboo railing installed for safety and to add to the asian flavor of this Oriental Garden prior to the annual State Garden Show.

These two pruned Dwarf White Pines catch the eye as you mindfully wind your way over the stone path. The stone lantern holds vigil over the garden.

Small and tranquil, this urban space makes use of the limited area to create a spa-like flow.

This garden is a favorite of the homeowner's toddler son. He loves to cross over the bridge, inspect the river rocks, and run up and down the stone path. Of course, the stone turtle captures his fancy, too. Sometimes outdoor play-sets are the last things kids like to use.

These clients' small yard had severe drainage issues, making it difficult for their large family to spend time outdoors. We worked with the clients to create several spaces in the small area that flowed together and met the family's needs. The modern-styled furniture spaces divided by flagstone pavers separated the spaces while an array of short plantings, Japanese maples, and Asian lantern decor introduced fluidity.

C&R Remodeling constructed this studio and home office for Linda Stewart, Interior Designer. Her carefully planned design artfully blends contemporary with Asian influences. Two sets of French doors open to the exquisitly landscaped back yard and patio area. The studio doubles as a family room and has become the couple's favorite living area. The main house connects to the studio via an open but covered breezeway.

This was a wooded back yard in Smyrna, GA . The main focal point was the long stream cascading down the hillside. The Mortared Flagstone Walkway and steps interacted with the stream and terminated at a patio and pond. It was all very natural and blended in with the existing landscape. The Rocky Regions best and boldest example of Western - Mountain - Asian fusion. Featured in Architectural Digest May 2010

This compact, urban backyard was in desperate need of privacy. We created a series of outdoor rooms, privacy screens, and lush plantings all with an Asian-inspired design sense. Elements include a covered outdoor lounge room, sun decks, rock gardens, shade garden, evergreen plant screens, and raised boardwalk to connect the various outdoor spaces. The finished space feels like a true backyard oasis.

The garden terraces as viewed from the home. The plant selections are chosen primarily for their foliage contrast and interest. A few flowering plants add to the interest at different times of the year. Here the Hot Lips Chelone is flowering along with the White wood aster.
