High contrast, high class. The dark grey cabinets (Decor Cabinets finish: bonfire smoke, Top Knobs hardware) and dark grey shower tile (Daltile), contrast with chrome fixtures (Moen & Delta), light grey tile accents, off-white floor tile, and quartz slabs (Pental Surfaces) for the countertop, bench, niches and half-wall caps.

His and Hers vanities with counter top cabinets. The drawers in the counter top cabinets make the access to items easy while keeping the counters clear from clutter. Placing electrical outlets inside the counter top cabinets allows charging items while they are stored away and hides any unsightly cords. Porcelain tile 12 x 24 floor tile. The tub is positioned to enjoy the mountain view while soaking. There is a steam shower off to the side with a tiled ceiling, Kohler steam unit and fixtures.

We planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year. The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks. We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids. --- Project designed by Courtney Thomas Design in La Cañada. We replaced the existing vanity and underutilized, non-functional closet with a beautiful linen cabinet with a double hamper. This space was challenging because of the existing dormer, which juts out above the vanity area. With round mirrors in the same brushed gold finish as the faucets, we brought the focus down and away from the odd angle.

This bathroom got a punch of personality with this modern, monochromatic design. Hand molded wall tiles and these playful, porcelain floor tiles add the perfect amount of movement and style to this newly remodeled space. Creation of a new master bathroom, kids’ bathroom, toilet room and a WIC from a mid. size bathroom was a challenge but the results were amazing. The master bathroom has a huge 5.5'x6' shower with his/hers shower heads. The main wall of the shower is made from 2 book matched porcelain slabs, the rest of the walls are made from Thasos marble tile and the floors are slate stone. The vanity is a double sink custom made with distress wood stain finish and its almost 10' long. The vanity countertop and backsplash are made from the same porcelain slab that was used on the shower wall. The two pocket doors on the opposite wall from the vanity hide the WIC and the water closet where a $6k toilet/bidet unit is warmed up and ready for her owner at any given moment. Notice also the huge 100" mirror with built-in LED light, it is a great tool to make the relatively narrow bathroom to look twice its size.

Every other room in this custom home is flooded with color, but we kept the main suite bright and white to foster maximum relaxation and create a tranquil retreat.

We designed this Daughter's Bathroom to be a tranquil and sophisticated space with accents of rose gold on sconces and cabinetry hardware. The rose gold is a lovely accent on the soft green/grey cabinetry. The vanity wall is covered in Ann Sacks glazed porcelain mosaic. The countertops are a beautiful White Macabus Quartzite for both an elegant yet easy care material.
