This project consisted of remodeling an existing master bath and closet. The owners asked for a functional and brighter space that would more easily accommodate two people simultaneously getting ready for work. The original bath had multiple doors that opened into each other, a small dark shower, and little natural light. The solution was to add a new shed dormer to expand the room’s footprint. This proved to be an interesting structural problem, as the owners did not want to involve any of the first floor spaces in the project. So, the new shed was hung off of the existing rafters (in a sense this bath is hanging from the rafters.) The expanded space allowed for a generous window in the shower, with a high window sill height to provide privacy from the back yard. The Strasser vanities were a great value and had the desired finish. The mirror frame and center shelves were painted to match the cabinet finish. The shower can easily function for two, allowing for their busy morning schedules. All of the fixtures matched nicely in a brushed nickel finish. This Point Loma home got a major upgrade! This remodeled bathroom got a modern updated look with walk-in shower geometric floor tiling and vanity. The best part is the modern lighted mirror in this bathroom.

Bathroom was previously occupied by a small office. Wall was removed and master bath expanded in to space and a entry closet created behind shower valve wall. The flat ceiling was removed and vaulted to follow roof line.

The wall between the toilet and tub was removed. A new soaker tub replaced the old tub. A short wall, surfaced with the same quartz on the tub side, was made to separate the tub and toilet. JRY & Co.

The single slab countertop is a beautiful white quartz material called Della Terra-Oceana in the exact size needed—used for both the vanity countertop and tub deck facing. The polished countertop slab design details included soft flecks of sparkle mirror and a 1-½ inch mitered edge detail to create a contemporary feel. To declutter the bathroom and free-up counter space, Gayler Design Build recommended two Robern electric medicine cabinets with glass shelves and plenty of space for bathroom essentials and even a phone charger.

The light and airy materials for the shower pan, walls, niches, and flooring were selected to add eye-catching interest and texture. The staggered installed matte floor tile and polished shower walls are actually one material with two different finishes!
