An old mirror became a feature by using leather belts to hang it.

Into the Garden Room
With many people re-evaluating their work/life balance, our clients wanted a multi-functional garden room to accommodate flexible home working; a reading room and a chill-out room for teenage children.
The room was a fully bespoke design based on our Dawn design, from our signature range.
Externally the room was clad in our Canadian redwood premium Cladding.
The room was further complemented with 3 leaf aluminium bifold doors. complimented with a bespoke designed and built decking area, with side access to the hidden door in the cladding to access the storage area.
The Millboard decking contrasted against the cladding.
The design included an integrated shed with a secure separate external door for our client to easily store all their garden equipment and especially the family's cycles.
The room was further enhanced with 2 Up /down lights and in canopy spotlights.
Inside was finished with engineered oak flooring and plastered and painted finish.
heating was with a dual heat and cooling air conditioning unit.

Haus Concrete Surfaces
Set in the pretty seaside town of Scarborough, these polished concrete worktops and island sit in this beautiful cosy kitchen. The clients wanted the kitchen to resemble their quirky and fun sense of style. Using polished concrete to top reclaimed up-cycled cabinetry. This mix works perfectly to provide juxtaposition between contemporary and traditional materials. The casting process creates imperfections in the surface exposing the natural beauty and character of concrete.

Scavolini Store Detroit
This kitchen was a complete gut renovation. The 1970s home layout was slightly modified to offer a more open floor plan to this young family. Regularly hosting friends and family in their home, the design features a large island with seating, as well as plenty of room between the main wall and the island for easy movement when there are multiple chefs in the kitchen!
The cabinets are from Scavolini in three colors and finishes; the base units and oven and refrigerator units are in a textured decor door in humus oak, the uppers in light grey glossy lacquer flank the stainless steel chimney hood. The elegant pop of color is on the pantry wall of full height larder units in matte tempered glass in baltic blue.
Dark gray textured stone is used as the counter tops and run up the back splash for a clean look. Up-cycled pendants in bright white are used over the island.

Evolve Stone is the first stone cladding that can be face nailed in the same fashion as traditional siding, reducing installation complexity and time dramatically. Shown here in “Morning Aspen” the Georgetown Run style features simple to follow pattern, making it our quickest installing style. Like real stone, it is colored throughout, allowing it to be cut to fit on-site while maintaining the highest appearance standards. The ease and workability of the product is unprecedented. No specialty tools and training are needed to install Evolve Stone. Easily manipulate, cut, and texture the product with your standard woodworking tools. This stone is lightweight, at just 2 lbs per square foot, but extremely durable, standing up to impossible wind speeds, salt spray, UV exposure, and freeze-thaw cycles. Each box is pre-portioned with engineered shapes allowing the pattern to appear naturally as you install. No need to sort and lay out the stones beforehand. We offer a class B fire rated product in each style and color.

The Great Flaming Lotus offers a contemplative centerpiece, a modern mandala, a flower of the enlightened mind. Lauded by poets, priests and chieftains, the lotus flower is rich in historic mystical symbolism.
A symbol of the sun, creation and rebirth, beautiful blooms transcend roots held deep in mud. At night, the flower sinks below the water only to rise again at dawn in a cycle that spawned stories of the sun being born from the first lotus blossom. The lotus embodies a promise of positive change, reflecting expansion of the soul and clarification of the mind.
Just as the Ancient Egyptians regarded the lotus bloom as a symbol of resurrection, this simple and modern firebowl has been reborn from recycled steel. Transfigured by torch, steel petals unfold to enclose a flame.

For this kitchen project, we integrated their old kitchen and breakfast room into a dual function space. The glass LED table is the centerpiece of the new kitchen and it can cycle through a continuous color sequence or stop at one color. The rest of the kitchen has Corian Antartica countertops. The clients are happy with their new open, whimsical kitchen.

In this guest bedroom/den, the stationary bike allows for exercise for the owner, who is a serious cycling enthusiast. The openings at the balconies both in the Master Bedroom and in the guest bedroom areas were enlarged, and new railings inserted, that allow for uninterrupted views to the outside views through the two-story loft area. Black-out curtains may be drawn in each of these balconies to provide total escape from daylight. The two story glass wall itself is furnished with mechanized shades that come down to provide shield of the western light.

Bangalore being an educational hub, the organization “JITO”, Bangalore envisaged a modern approach hostel, for the girl students, in heart of city, with all necessary amenities, security and safety measures to provide comfortable living at affordable price. The hostel was proposed as a linear solid built mass as the hostel is located in densely populated, Central business district of Bangalore. The design team visualised to create a socially active and environmentally sustainable space. The design team planned for timeless, eco-friendly and sustainable architecture with brutalist style.
The key factor in the design process was to enhance student interaction, within the indoor spaces that percolates outward and interacts with the landscape around it. The contorting central atrium allows layering of multiple activities and boost intercommunication amongst students. As the inhabitant’s hail from different parts of the country, a friendly and open environment in terms of built form was necessary to promote a healthy social bond amongst everyone. The central atrium also allows natural light to penetrate deeper in the building and act as a solar chimney that takes away the stale and hot air within the building through stack effect, forming wind cycle which keeps the place cooler in the day time and warmer in the night. The vertical artificial garden imitates the sense of being in midst of nature, though surrounded with concrete jungle. The hand painted art work of 17’ x 8’ on the ground level of courtyard adds to galore of space. Over all the contorting shape of courtyard becomes the prima facia conversation starter.
The Hostel has well ventilated 45 air-conditioned rooms with triple sharing, accommodating 135 girl students. The wellbeing of the inmates is well planned with recreational and socially engaging court, a gymnasium, recreational activity room, well equipped digital library and the dining area in the top floor. The grand entrance lobby accommodates the admin section and meeting rooms for parents and students. Beyond the entrance lobby access is restricted with biometric access control. The entire complex is well secured and monitored round the clock for safety of girl students. Ample parking space is available in basement.
Sustainable parameters were on top of the design solution, the design team planned for exposed wire cut brick exposed concrete façade. The laying of the bricks is done in rat trap bond to allow air gap in bricks, which insulates the inside thermally and acoustically. This form of bond also reduces the use of material by 33%. A play of light and shadow is formed in the concave elements planned on the parts of the façade. All sustainable parameters like rain water harvesting, solar energy, Water treatment (STP works on ecology and consumes zero power or energy in its lifetime) etc have been incorporated.
