We believe it is possible to find tranquillity amidst our fast-paced lifestyle and we did it! Our Team created a small garden decorative area as a perfect focal point for their yoga/ meditative session is definitely a serene idea! Living room wall was kept clean to also serve as a projector’s screen. We’ve picked furnishings with subtle shades made of organic materials plus blending pieces with simple geometric shapes and irregular natural shapes to create some contrast.

This home was not even visible from the street because of the overgrown and neglected landscape. There was no obvious entrance to the front door, and the garden area was surprisingly spacious once the over grown brush was removed. We added an arbored and walled patio in the rear garden, near the kitchen, for morning coffee and meditation. .

this project began with an dilapidated site with no landscape. The large front yard was unusable for this family with 2 young boys. the inspiration was to create a clean modern space but with ample room for the children to have practical outdoor play areas. the anchor of the project was to use a large 2 ton rock, already purchased by the owner, and create a center piece. the rock was converted into a water feature and the space was developed into a meditative seating pit wrapped in corten steel. the remaining areas were developed as retaining / seat walls bordering the open lawn play areas. modern railings & fence were designed to wrap the upper patio and perimeter fence. landscape lighting provide enough light for safety and mood.

THE PROBLEM
This busy homeowner and her loyal pup had no place to land and clean-up when they got home after a productive day at the barn or a awesome day at the beach. From mud to sand to regular grooming, the front door just was not cutting it for an entry.
THE SOLUTION
An unfinished basement offers a lot of opportunity. We created a shed entry by replacing the existing bulkhead and dropping them right into the new partially finished basement. The new basement not only including a dog spa that some humans would envy but closets for additional storage, enough finished area for a personal gym/meditation area, as well as heated tile floors that not only help everything to dry quicker but also are a great place for restorative yoga!
Every dog gets their day, or so the old adage goes, but in this case, that's one lucky dog!

Hilda Carroll Holistic Interiors
A new colour palette was introduced and the layout was changed, creating space for a meditation corner. Rugs were also introduced to warm up the dated laminate flooring which was cold underfoot.
With the softer colours and layers of textures the room has become a cosier and more inviting space that is used during the day, and not just as a sleeping space.
90% of the contents were sourced second-hand.
