    Universal Solar

It does not matter. The asphalt would be the least expensive for solar installation, as the mounting hardware should be less for this type of roofing material. However, metal roofing (such as in your picture) or slate can also be used in conjunction with solar panels. Look to your overall budget and style preference for this decision. Good luck on your project!

Apart from the cost you also need to consider the strength of the roof so that it can hold the weight the tiles and also viable to resist any type of leakage. You can consider steel panels, rubber and asphalt shingles for the purpose. Cedar plank shingles metal shingles and clay tile are a strict no-no as these would not be able to bear the weight or maintain the shape. Hope it helps.

Historically low interest rates are also making it easy for homeowners with good credit to get a good deal on a loan. If you decide to go this route, make sure that your loan payment is less than your average electricity bill to ensure that you’re still saving money.Note: Going solar will usually raise your homeowner’s insurance premium; expect to see it increase by a few bucks per month.

Stichwort: Solarthermie.
